That is what one family in Oklahoma faced everyday until Seattle’s NBA franchise relocated to the Sooner State . “I could not be happier”; said an almost breathless Laquita Millwood. “I like Debbie and Sonja at work and all but sometimes, man, it’s just hard to listen to their stories about their kids soccer games, Tupperware, and camping trips.
Not all however, share her enthusiasm. Oklahoma City Mayor, Mick Cornett expressed reserve in a recent city council meeting when he pointed out that 12 black men moving to town would cause a 400% increase in the black population and that the area may not be ready for such a dramatic shift in demographics.

Hmm….not sure I follow this artice. “Imagine seeing others like you only on tv”; does this statement imply that blacks rarely see other blacks in Oklahoma City? If so, that is absurd. And the headline is even more absurd. Why does race have to be a factor? I’m sure most Oklahomans (including myself, a black woman) is pleased to have a professional sports team moving to our city. City council meetings are public meetings and are transcribed. I would have to confirm that the mayor made such an idiotic comment before even entertaining such stupidity. Needless to say since its obvious, this article is just dumb!

there are close to 100,000 african americans in OKC proper not counting the whole metro!which would double or triple that amount! but this article is still funny! anyone who thinks this is true go to the entire eastside of OKC and east suburbs!
